Being a student leader in my CogWell chapter has helped me grow professionally in ways that I know will benefit me in my future career. As a Criminal Justice major and Psychology minor, I have learned the importance of leadership, communication, and teamwork. Through helping plan events, working with other members, and taking on responsibilities within the chapter, I have gained experience coordinating with different people and managing tasks effectively. One of the biggest benefits has been building confidence in my professional skills. Being in a leadership role has pushed me to step outside my comfort zone, speak up during meetings, and take initiative when projects need to be completed. These experiences have helped me become more organized, responsible, and prepared for professional environments such as internships and future careers in the criminal justice field.
Personally, CogWell has also helped me feel more connected to my campus community. It has allowed me to meet students with similar interests while creating opportunities to support others and make a positive impact. Through these experiences, I have become more confident in myself and my ability to contribute to a team. Overall, serving as a student leader in CogWell has provided valuable professional development while also helping me grow as an individual. The skills and experiences I have gained will continue to benefit me throughout my academic journey and future career.
