Jess Pinto, Immaculata Chapter Member, Class of 2028

My favorite memory at CogWell this year was our last meeting, where we got to do a step-by-step painting class! It was really out of my comfort zone, but it was so much fun to try something new and just have that experience with all of the new friends that I have made. We were laughing and talking about how some people were so naturally good at it, and others were struggling, but it was just meant to be fun! This experience was meaningful to me because I got to see a different side of everyone in our chapter. We didn’t talk about anything heavy and it was such a relaxing hang out before finals. I loved getting to know more about my peers in CogWell, and I got to see how much patience some of our members had. At the end of the meeting, we all showed each other our paintings and talked about who was going to hang them in their dorms. We then got to take our pictures, and most of the group stayed just to hang out after the meeting. This was impactful to me because all year long I was hearing about all the things that some of our members were facing, and to be able to see them carry all their struggles and still show up for this club and be the best version of themselves was inspiring. Being able to leave their worries at the door or talk about them openly, but most importantly show up anyway meant a lot to me. I loved all my memories at CogWell this past year, and I cannot wait to start making more at the start of the fall semester!
